Better design, better holidays: Renovating Cumberland Apartments, Lorne.

Our team recently completed an apartment renovation at the Cumberland Resort in Lorne, Victoria. We collaborated closely with local Lorne builders to stay within the client’s budget, leveraging our extensive experience from previous Cumberland renovations without compromising on style. The resulting design manifests our brief: to encapsulate the warmth and light of summer in Lorne. 

Key improvements included reconfiguring the kitchen's flow by removing a restrictive hexagonal design, thereby enhancing light and movement.  We continued this theme in the bathroom, as we enhanced the spatial arrangement tailored to the client’s usage. 

This level of detail and care was continued in the staircase. The staircase was meticulously redesigned to ensure coherence, with attention to details such as brushed steel nose trimmings and handrail connection details. 

Regular site visits allowed us to maintain clear communication with the contractor, to ensure that we met our common goal; to meet the client’s brief. Our design highlighted the apartment's coastal proximity, encapsulating the light and airiness of Lorne in the summer, all while remaining within the client's budget.
