What is Moonah?
Moonah - Melaleuca Lanceolata
The Melaleuca Lanceolata is a type of native Surf Coast flora that can vary in size from low-level shrub to over 20m in height. the flowers are formed in a white, bottle-brush arrangement with with small, thin leaves.
These native bushes are important sources of food for a range of birds, insects and animals throughout Summer as they are still in bloom. They're often seen growing along the coastline, able to tolerate the harsh winds, poor soils and dry conditions.
